Griffith University is committed to a safe, inclusive and fair environment where every student can thrive. If something has happened that has adversely affected your studies, wellbeing or experience at Griffith, you can tell us about it online, anytime.
Complaints, disclosures and reports can be made via the Complaints Form. After a form is submitted, the Integrity and Complaints team will review the information provided, assess any immediate safety or support needs, and direct your matter through the appropriate University pathway.
Submissions made after hours, on weekends, or on public holidays will be reviewed during normal business hours only. The online form should not be used to notify the university of a current emergency.
You choose how to get in touch
You can contact us using the Complaints Form, by email or phone, or you can book an appointment to speak to someone in person.
Support is available
We encourage all members of the Griffith community to call out, report and seek support if something has happened that has adversely affected your studies, wellbeing or experience.
You can seek support before, during or after raising a matter. Accessing support does not prevent you from submitting a Complaint or disclosure form or affect how your complaint is managed.
- Student Safety and Wellbeing team
- Student Health, Wellbeing and Accessibility Services
- Reporting and disclosing Gender-based Violence
Advocacy
Student advocates and other relevant support services can assist and support you before, during and after raising your issues with the University.
Assistance is available if you:
- are unsure how to raise issues with the relevant person or service area
- feel unable to address challenging situations on your own
- want help putting your case forward to the University.
Advocacy options
If you need to attend meetings with a University staff member, you can bring a support person with you to provide with emotional and procedural support, and to bear witness to the meeting and the issues discussed. They can be a student advocate, a family member or friend.
If you want to appoint a support person to represent you in your case, you must complete an authority to release information or transact business on behalf of a student form and attach it to your complaint submission.
Once the completed and signed authority form is provided to the University, the form will be added to your student file. At this stage, the University will be able to discuss and/or disclose any relevant information with your support person.Â
In addition to helping you have an active and enjoyable campus experience, Griffith's various student associations offer confidential and independent advocacy services to help navigate and understand University policies. These associations also provide support and advocate for students with concerns, complaints, reviews and appeals.
Gold Coast students can contact the Gold Coast Student Guild to discuss advocacy support.
Current students at all other campuses, including postgraduates and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates and reach out to the Student Representative Council.
