    Parking charges vary depending on your type of parking permit or if you're paying for casual parking.

    Annual and Trimester Parking Permit prices (Valid as of 2025)

    • Annual General permits = $436.83
    • Annual Multistorey permits = $873.61
    • Trimester General permits = $145.62
    • Trimester Multistorey permits = $291.20
    • Casual parking starts from $2/hour

    Griffith University has free parking in designated disability bays for people who hold an Australian disability parking permit or Red disability parking permit. Griffith follows the same parking rules for people with disability permits as listed on the Qld Government website.

    Introduction

    Before paying for your parking, double-check you have parked in the correct zone for the period of time you need. 

    Need to stay all day?

    Avoid parking in green 2P (two-hour) zones. 

    Instructions

    1. Enter the registration of your vehicle.
    2. Select Ok.
    3. Use left/right arrows to choose your length of stay.
    4. Press Ok.
    5. Make your payment.
      1. note: you can either insert your card into the card reader slot or tap-and-go
      2. note: your payment has been successfully registered when you reach the E-Receipt screen
    6. If required, generate an E-Receipt number.
      1. note: you can retrieve your E-Receipt online.

    Parking at Brisbane South (Mt Gravatt) is open-air only.

    No there is no Student or Staff parking at the Conservatorium

    However, there are several excellent public transport options available.

    You can:

    • Catch a bus to the South Bank Busway Station
    • Travel by train
      • South Bank Railway Station is directly behind the Queensland College of Art (QCA) on Grey Street
    • Walk to Brisbane City (South Bank) from the nearby Brisbane CBD. 
      1. cross the river via the Goodwill Bridge (footbridge) or the Victoria Bridge (go past the Performing Arts Centre and follow the Grand Arbour south through to the end of South Bank Parklands).

    There is also the South Bank car park, Secure Park and Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre car park in walking distance of the Conservatorium. These are private car parks that all offer different rates depending on what time of day you enter and how long you stay. Griffith University has no affiliation with these car park operators.

    Visitor parking 

    Official visitor parking bays are available for external visitors on official Griffith business.  

    Visitor parking bays can only be booked by a Griffith staff member through a request form. If the request is successful, an email will be sent to the staff member to pass on to the visitor. 

    Casual parking is another option if visitor bays are not available. 

    Please note that visitor bays are monitored and non-compliant bookings will be cancelled. 

    Please note that the request form cannot be used in Internet Explorer. Chrome and Firefox are recommended. 

    Make a visitor parking request 

    Disability parking

    Griffith University has disability parking bays available for staff, students and visitors across Brisbane South (Nathan), Logan, Gold Coast and Brisbane City (South Bank) campuses. A government-issued Disability Parking Permit is required to access these locations.

    Drivers with a red Australian disability parking permit can park for free in the parking bays displaying the Red international symbol of access.

    Drivers with a blue Australian disability parking permit can park for free in the parking bays displaying the Blue or Red international symbol of access. This is in accordance with the information published by the Queensland Government.

    Please note that if you park outside of the signed disability parking bays, the zone regulations in which you park in will apply. This includes payment for parking casually or ensuring you hold the relevant parking permit for the zone.

    You can use your Australian permit to park for free at any on-street parking regulated parking areas:

    • up to 30 minutes—when the time limit shown on a sign is less than this
    • for an unlimited time—when the time limit shown on a sign is 30 minutes or more.

    Event parking 

    Free parking can be organised for university events at Griffith’s Brisbane South (Nathan), Logan, Brisbane South (Mt Gravatt) and Gold Coast campuses. Short-term permits allow attendees to park in general permit areas and the Gold Coast campus’ Multistorey (G55) casual parking area by registering their vehicles at a Pay-by-Plate parking machine. Please note that event parking is not available at other Multistorey car parks. 

    Please note that if event attendees do not follow instructions or enter their information incorrectly, they risk receiving an infringement that is unable to be rescinded.
