We’re inviting Griffith students to take part in a Mentoring Design Jam - an interactive workshop where students come together to share ideas, explore what works, tackle real challenges and co-design new possibilities for mentoring.

You don’t need previous mentoring experience. We’re interested in your perspective as a student and what you think would make mentoring more useful, accessible and valuable for Griffith students.

By taking part, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Share your ideas and experiences
• Help shape the future of mentoring at Griffith
• Explore new ways students can build professional connections and career confidence
• Contribute to a stronger student experience for current and future Griffith students

Want to help shape decisions that affect students at Griffith

Expressions of interest are now open for 2027 student representative positions on University, School and other committees.

Student representatives bring student perspectives and experiences into committee discussions and contribute to decisions across areas such as learning and teaching, research, student experience, governance and emerging priorities like AI.

There are opportunities available for undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and HDR students, with eligibility varying by committee.

The National Student Safety Survey (NSSS) is Australia's largest survey covering university students' experiences of safety, sexual violence or harm. The aim is to provide all university students with an opportunity for their voices to be heard. This includes women, gender-diverse students, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, students from LGBTQIA+ communities, students with disability and students from culturally diverse backgrounds.

What to expect

The NSSS contains direct questions about:

• where you get information about sexual relationships and consent
• your perspectives and experiences of gendered violence, including sexual assault and technology-facilitated harm
• your awareness of support resources and reporting pathways.

We encourage all students to take part. Every perspective helps and you don't need to have experienced sexual violence or harm. Not all sexual violence or harm involves sex and it doesn’t always happen within relationships. Every experience is different. You can choose what information you share about your experiences.

How to participate

You will find a unique survey code in an invitation email sent to your Griffith email account.

Support is available before, during and after participation.

Students will be invited to participate from Tuesday 1 September and have until Tuesday 29 September to respond.

Participation is voluntary and confidential. If you choose to participate, your experiences and perspectives can help inform positive change and contribute to safer campuses for current and future students at Griffith.
