    Frequently asked questions

    Answer

    No. You cannot enrol in any courses that are not approved. 
     
    Please ensure you have 6 approved courses before enrolment commences to allow for changes to course offerings and timetable clashes
     
    If you need additional courses to be assessed, please email International Admissions at inboundmobility@griffith.edu.au with your full name, student ID, and the course codes and names for each additional course. The International Admissions team will assess your request and, if applicable, provide you with an updated CAR.

    Answer

    Yes. You can enrol in online courses, however there are conditions:
     
    1. If you hold a student visa, you can only study online for one third of your total program.
    2. For students enrolled in a 30 Credit Point (CP) study load, you must be enrolled in at least 20CP of on-campus courses. You may have a 10CP online course.
    3. For students enrolled in a 40 CP study load, you must be enrolled in at least 30CP of on-campus courses. You may have one 10CP online course.
    4. Ensure you have your home university approval to enrol into an online course.

    Study Abroad students

    Check your Offer Letter for information of how many credit points you can enrol in; either 30 credit points (CP) or 40 credit points (CP).
     
    If you change your enrolment load, you must notify International Admissions at inboundmobility@griffith.edu.au no later than the Friday of (week 4).
    We will check your enrolment and depending on your enrolled credit points, will notify you if you are required to pay for additional courses, or if you are eligible for a refund.


    Exchange students

    You can enrol in either 30 credit points (CP) or 40 credit points (CP). The standard study load is 40 credit points.
     
    Please also consult with your home university to find out which study load is best for you.

    You can only enrol in the courses that show an ‘Approved’ status on your Course Approval Report (CAR).

    It is your responsibility to ensure you meet the course prerequisites for any courses with a ‘Approved’ status on your CAR.

    The enrolment system may allow you to enrol in courses that are not on your CAR, to request additional courses, please email International Admissions at inboundmobility@griffith.edu.au with your full name, student ID, and the course codes and names. The International Admissions team will assess your request and, if applicable, provide you with an updated CAR.

    For incoming Study Abroad and Exchange students, the minimum study load is 30 credit points per trimester.

    If you hold a student visa, you can only study online course(s) for one third of your total program. This means that if you are enrolled in 30 credit points, you can only complete one 10 credit point course via online study.

    Answer

    You can commence in any trimester subject to the availability of suitable courses.

    If you are a Study Abroad student

    You can enrol in up to three trimesters in a 12 month period.

    If you are an Exchange student

    You can enrol in up to two trimesters, depending on the length of program your home institution nominates you for.

    It is your responsibility to confirm that your home institution will award credit for this study.

    Answer

    Two or more courses are incompatible when the content of the courses are sufficiently similar and overlap.
     
    To find out whether your course has any incompatible courses:
     
    1. Go to 'Find a Course'
    2. Enter your course code in the Search box.
    3. Click Search.
    4. Select the required course offering.
     
    The information will be listed under 'About this course'.

    Instructions

    You can apply for your Australian Student Visa via the Department of Home Affairs website, as soon as you have received your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from Griffith University.

    To receive your CoE, you must first meet all the conditions outlined in your Letter of Offer, including:

    1.Submitting your completed Acceptance of Offer 
    2.Paying your deposit, which covers your first trimester tuition fees and visa-length Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) (if applicable)
    3.Providing any additional documents listed in your Letter of Offer (e.g. final transcripts, English language results)

    Answer

    Trimester 1 (February to June): 30 January of the same year
    Trimester 2 (July to October): 29 May of the same year
    Trimester 3 (October to February): 30 September of the same year

    Note: The above dates are recommendation only. You must ensure that you allow sufficient time to apply for a student visa.
