What can we help you find?

Health and safety and wellbeing training

At Griffith, health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) training plays a key role in creating a safe, healthy and compliant workplace.

This page outlines the training you need to complete, starting with core mandatory modules and followed by any role-specific HSW requirements relevant to your work or the spaces you work in. This training covers the social and environmental aspects of sustainability as they relate to how we work and operate, supporting Griffith University to meet its legal, social and institutional responsibilities while providing staff with a safe and healthy work environment.

    Sustainable Development Goals

Griffith University is aligned with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is committed to advancing sustainable development through comprehensive initiatives that promote economic prosperity, social inclusion, environmental sustainability and good governance for all.

    Start with your mandatory training

At Griffith, all staff are required to complete a core set of mandatory training modules to help meet our legal and institutional obligations and ensure a safe and respectful working environment.

The core training modules are managed by the capability team and include:

    • Health and Safety Induction
    • Emergency Response and Evacuation
    • Code of Conduct
    • Cyber Security
    • Fraud and Corruption
    • Preventing and Responding to Gender-based violence

Some of these mandatory training modules help ensure we prevent waste and pollution from entering waterways, and pests and diseases from entering, emerging, establishing or spreading to the surrounding environment and thus  protecting biodiversity.

Please visit the Mandatory Training page, to view full details and enrol in the required modules. All completions are tracked in PeopleSoft and can be viewed through your Training Summary in the Staff Portal.

Role-specific health, safety and wellbeing training

In addition to the core mandatory training, some roles at Griffith require additional HSW-specific training based on your work area, activities or responsibilities. These modules help staff manage specific risks and ensure compliance with safety procedures in laboratories, workshops and other specialist environments.

Please refer to the table below and consult with your manager/supervisor to confirm which training applies to your role.
