    Introduction

Approval to add a course after the last date to add a course may only be granted in exceptional circumstances. Exceptional circumstances are those considered beyond your control. That is, a situation occurs that a reasonable person would consider is not due to the person’s action or inaction, either direct or indirect, and for which the person is not responsible. This situation must be unusual, uncommon or abnormal. A lack of understanding of Australian Government Legislation or University Policy is not considered to be beyond a person’s control.

    Instructions

    1. Ensure your grade point average (GPA) is 4.0 or higher.
    2. Check the course profile to ensure no assessment is due within five days of the date you will submit your form.
    3. Ensure you have met prerequisites for the course.
    4. Submit the Request to add/change course enrolment form.
      1. note: attach documentary evidence of exceptional circumstances that prevented you from enrolling during the open enrolment period and prior to the end of Week 2 of trimester
    5. Pay the application fee for each late course addition.
      1. note: you will go through the online payment process before you submit the form

Please note that enrolment after the census date is only allowed in the case of administrative error and requires both the consent of the student and the course convenor.  In addition, full-fee-paying students will be required to pay tuition fees before approved courses can be added to their enrolment.

    Answer

Yes. The Program Director may grant an extension, of up to one year (12 months), to the maximum period for completing your program. You should apply for the extension in writing to your Program Director.

Please note that extending the maximum time to complete your program is not permitted if you are studying an Honours program that is end-on to a bachelor degree.

You can find more information in Section 3.11 of the Enrolment Procedure.

    Explanation

Yes, provided the course meets your program requirements.

    Restrictions on cross-campus enrolment include:

    • If the course is a project, field trip, internship, work experience, professional practice, teaching practice, clinical practice or a similar activity, you must enrol at your home campus.
    • Enrolment in an academic plan may be restricted to students whose home campus is the campus of the academic plan.
    • Enrolment in a 'restricted course' may be restricted to students whose home campus is the campus of the course.

Please note that you will be asked to confirm the campus offering during the enrolment process if multiple options are available.

If you wish to transfer your program to one offered at another campus, you need to complete and submit the Application for an internal transfer form.

    Instructions

If you are an undergraduate student seeking readmission to Griffith to a different program, you can do this via an internal transfer.

Please note that you can submit an internal transfer form to apply for readmission into a new program if you have:

    • not yet graduated
    • not been excluded
    • no outstanding fees.

Any supporting documents can be uploaded with your internal transfer application, and you will be assessed for admission to your new program.

Please note that not all programs are available through internal transfer. You can find more information on the Internal transfer webpage. Internal transfers are covered under the Admission Procedure, which is part of the Admission Policy suite.
