    Prepare to enrol

    Plan ahead so you can breeze through the enrolment process.

    Before enrolment opens each trimester, there's a planning period when you can view your timetable options and plan your classes ahead of time. Use this period to familiarise yourself with your compulsory courses, elective options, study load requirements and key enrolment dates. This will allow you to quickly and easily secure your preferred timetable when enrolment opens.

    Pre-enrolment questionnaire and tasks

    You will be asked to complete a pre-enrolment questionnaire if you're enrolling for the first time or changing your program. The purpose of the questionnaire is to collect your personal details.

    You will also be asked to complete certain tasks before you can enrol. These tasks may include completing an electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF), submitting your Unique Student Identifier (USI), completing the Career Readiness questionnaire and selecting your major/minor.

    Remember, at Griffith, we refer to your degree as your program, and your subjects are called your courses.

    Timetable publication

    You will have the opportunity to view next trimester's timetable well ahead of time via Programs and Courses. Simply search for your program title to view your course list, available majors, minors and electives plus the scheduled class times.

    Although the official 'planning' period is still to come, you can use this time to make sure you're aware of your program requirements, decide which courses you will study next trimester and note your preferred class times.

    Enrolment planning

    The enrolment planning period occurs after the timetable is published and before enrolment opens each trimester. During this period, you can login to the enrolment system and plan your preferred class timetable for next trimester.

    This process doesn't confirm your enrolment, however, it will mean that you're ready to go as soon as enrolment opens. This increases your chances of enrolling in your preferred class times. Refer to your myGriffith homepage to find out when enrolment planning opens.

    Explanation

    The Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a reference number made up of a combination of ten numbers and letters. Your USI is used to connect your student loan information to your personal details. You are required to provide a USI via the Pre-Enrolment Questionnaire to study at Griffith.

    Your legal first name, last name and date of birth need to match exactly between Griffith University and the USI Registry. If they do not match, then your USI cannot be verified. You need a verified USI to:

    • be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP)
    • be eligible for Commonwealth financial assistance (HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP, OS-HELP and SA-HELP)
    • graduate and receive your award.

    International students

    You will only be able to create a USI after arriving in Australia. Further information is available on the Australian Government's USI website.

    Introduction

    Once you have planned your courses, you can plan your class times. Adding a class to your planned timetable won't guarantee you a place, but it will save you time when enrolment opens and increase your chances of enrolling in your preferred class time.

    Instructions

    1. Go to the relevant course in myGriffith.
    2. Click the Select classes button against the course
    3. Select your preferred classes and hit Save.

    When you have selected all the required classes for a course, the course status will change from 'Action Required' to 'Planned'.

    Instructions

    There are set times when you can submit your enrolment each trimester. Your personalised enrolment time will display on your myGriffith homepage.

    1. Log in to myGriffith.
    2. Click My program.
    3. Click Manage enrolment.
    4. Select the Submit enrolment tab.
    5. Click the Enrol button.

    When you are successfully enrolled in a course, the course status will be 'Enrolled'.

    Explanation

    No. Having an accompanist at your audition is not compulsory (with the exception of Classical Voice auditions). Any changes to auditions can only be made if you are ill and provide medical documentation.

    If you wish to use the services of a Conservatorium accompanist for your audition (excluding Musical Theatre and Acting auditions), please review the accompanist information for your specialisation.

    Please note that a subject is called a course and a degree is called a program at Griffith.

    Answer

    Domestic students are either:

    • Australian citizens
    • New Zealand citizens
    • Australian permanent residency visa holders
    • Australian permanent humanitarian visa holders
    • Pacific Engagement visa holders.

    If you do not fit into these categories, you are considered to be an international student.

    Explanation

    Auditions requirements can be found on the for particular instruments may require applicants to learn and perform a quick study piece. Music for this will be made available two weeks prior to auditions.

    You can find specific audition requirements for your instrument/specialisation area on the Auditions webpage.

    Explanation

    Griifth offer a range of languages. You can specialise in one or more of the following:

    • Chinese
    • Italian
    • Japanese
    • Spanish.

    You can also study French, German, Russian, Indonesian, Korean and Modern Greek by enrolling as a Cross-Institutional student at the University of Queensland (UQ) whilst completing your other studies at Griffith.
