There are three ways you can pay your SSAF at Griffith:

myGriffith using your credit card

1. Log in to myGriffith.
2. Select Finances from the main menu.
3. Select Credit card from the Payment options.
4. Select Proceed to payment.

Please note that payment and transfer of funds to Griffith University is immediate.

Convera using your credit card or by telegraphic transfer

Credit card payments can be made via the Convera website. Accepted credit cards include:

• MasterCard
• VISA.

Telegraphic Transfers can be made by transferring funds to Convera at your bank or through online banking. International students can make payment in their local currency where possible.

Payment and transfer of funds to Griffith University can take between four to seven days.

BPay using your bank account

1. Generate your Academic Charges Account when it is available.
2. Log in to your bank account using internet or telephone.
3. Enter the Griffith University Biller Code (29264) and reference number.
   1. note: the reference number is located on the bottom left-hand corner of your ACA
4. Complete payment.

Payment and transfer of funds to Griffith University can take between two to four days.

If you are approved for a Government HELP loan by your census date, your loan will be repaid via the Australia taxation system once your income reaches a certain level.

Please note that penalties for non-payment may apply if you do not make full payment of your fees by the census date.

Commonwealth Supported Students

Your tuition fees depend on the courses you choose, as each course falls under a specific government-designated discipline (student contribution band).

The indicative fee represents the estimated average cost for a typical first-year full-time study load (80 credit points or 40 credit points for certificate programs). Actual tuition fees may vary based on your choice of courses, majors, electives, and any approved recognition of prior learning.

Please note that the indicative fee is based on current conditions and available data and should only be used as a guide.

The Australian Government sets student contribution amounts annually, and they may be subject to increases.

Fee-Paying Students

The indicative annual tuition fee is based on a standard full-time annual study load (80 credit points or 40 credit points for certificate programs) and should be used as a guide only.

Actual tuition fees for international fee-paying students may vary depending on the year you begin your studies and the year in which you enrol.

Please note that actual tuition fees for domestic fee-paying students may vary depending on the year in which you enrol.

You may be eligible for an Academic Payment Plan (APP), enabling you to pay your fees in three equal monthly instalments, if you are:

• an international student (not in your first trimester at Griffith)
• a domestic fee-paying student (including non-award students) who is not eligible for FEE-HELP
• a student being charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF), who is not eligible for SA-HELP.

Please note that Commonwealth supported students cannot apply for an APP for their student contribution charges.

Please note that you will not be able to apply for an APP using your mobile phone.

If you drop a course on or before its census date, you will not have to pay the course fees or the Student Service and Amenities Fee (SSAF) for that course. If you drop the course after its census date, you will have to pay the course fees, including the SSAF.

International students

You are required to maintain a study load that enables you to complete your degree within the dates of your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). If you are intending to study less than a full/standard load this trimester, please make an appointment to meet with an International Student Advisor to discuss your circumstances. Approval is required for a reduced study load.

How do I find the census date for my course?

How do I drop a course?

To access a HECS-HELP loan, you must be studying in a Commonwealth supported place and be either of the following:

• An Australian citizen.
• A permanent humanitarian visa holder (or an eligible former permanent humanitarian visa holder).
• An eligible New Zealand citizen who holds a Special Category visa (SCV).
• A permanent visa holder who held a New Zealand SCV immediately prior to your permanent visa and previously met the long-term residency requirements.
• A Pacific Engagement visa holder.

If you are an Australian permanent resident who does not meet any of the criteria above, you cannot access a HECS-HELP loan to defer payment of your fees. You must pay your fees upfront prior to the census date of each trimester. 

Please note that an eligible former permanent humanitarian visa holder is someone who meets all of the following:

• Is not a permanent humanitarian visa holder.
• Was previously a permanent humanitarian visa holder.
• Is the holder of a subclass 155 or subclass 157 Resident Return visa.

If you are studying in a Commonwealth supported place, you will be prompted to complete an online Request for a Commonwealth supported place and HECS-HELP loan form (eCAF) via myGriffith, prior to enrolling in your program.

Am I eligible for a HECS-HELP loan?

If you make an online payment using a credit card, you will be able to generate a receipt via the myGriffith Fees page.

Please note that the receipts provided are for web payments for student tuition related charges only.

1. Log in to myGriffith.
2. Select Finances from the main menu.
3. Select Print myGriffith receipt under the I want to ... heading.
4. Enter the relevant From and To dates.
5. Click the Search button.
6. Click the view button to generate the relevant receipt.
   1. tip: ensure you have View All selected to view all the receipts available within the timeframe.

The receipt will be generated as a PDF document.

How do I find a summary of the fees I've paid throughout my studies?

Yes. You can make voluntary repayments at any time.

Voluntary repayments will reduce your HELP debt as soon as they are processed by the Australian Taxation Office. Please note that taking a voluntary repayment does not reduce any compulsory repayments you are required to make.
