Translating knowledge and innovations into new products, services and ventures to create impact through commercialisation.
As a researcher, you can discover ways to create impact from your research through commercialisation with the right support and advice from Griffith Enterprise. We support you to commercialise your research, innovation or expertise so it can benefit society.
Griffith Enterprise
Griffith Enterprise is the University’s dedicated office supporting the translation and commercialisation of research excellence and intellectual property to deliver positive societal and commercial impact.
Commercialisation describes the process of translating research and knowledge into new products, services and companies. Commercialisation provides additional ways to explore how research can be applied to solve problems today and into the future.
Commercialisation and translational pathways supported by Griffith Enterprise include:
- consultancy and commercial research (CCR) partnerships
- licences to established companies (technology transfer)
- the creation of new spin-out companies or social enterprises.
We have a team of seasoned executives drawn from diverse industries and with global networks that can help you find solutions and shape mutually beneficial partnerships.
Our services
The Griffith Enterprise team offers services like:
- partnership creation
- tender response assistance
- contract negotiation
- IP management, protection and patents
- technology transfer and licensing
- enterprise establishment.
Why commercialise your research?
Commercialisation comes with many benefits like:
- translation of the research
- generate revenue and potential research funding
- learn new skills and experience
- professional recognition and personal fulfilment
- establish new research partnerships
- create new employment opportunities, including for students.
Griffith encourages an entrepreneurial culture, so any net proceeds of commercialisation (not including research funding) is shared with the IP creators as specified in the Intellectual Property Policy.
